The English Department at the University of California, Riverside has immediate needs in this area. We especially wish to attract scholars whose work engages nineteenth-century Britain’s global contexts, an emphasis that will complement our departmental strengths in transnational, hemispheric, and diasporic literatures. “Global contexts” may be conceived in diverse ways, whether as imperial and colonial power; as part of the Black Atlantic, Pacific, and other regional constellations; as a node within international political, cultural, and industrial connections; as related to environmental contexts or eco-critical methods; and other literary, cultural, theoretical, historical, and scientific interpretations of “global” not anticipated in this list. We are interested in scholars taking the very newest approaches to the field, beyond the limitations of conventional understandings of “Romantic” and “Victorian.” We seek a scholar whose work will create the richest connections across the department and campus.

We encourage applicants to visit our departmental website for information about our undergraduate and graduate programs as well as our faculty: adidas Mens Ultra BoostUK 4 EUR 365 US 45 cx4sbXQ
